Story: Next in Line: Name Day.

Every once and a while, a story comes out of nowhere that I manage to scribble down before it disappears. Out of those, once every couple of years or so, I get one that I'm truly proud of.

This one might knock them all out of the park.

I love it. Next in Line will definitely be an ongoing thing, but this one will still probably be the best one, which is a good way to start if you ask me.

Anyways, compiled from twitter into a more readable format, here's Name Day.

Sweetsong at her best: 2015 highlights reel.

So there's a lot going on, and we'll try to get all the info to you soon, folks, but in the meantime, Sweetsong and I have gone back through the many, many, MANY photos we've shot this year, and would like to share with you our favorite pictures of that Photogenic Sweetheart we all know and love.

These shots have come from a variety of places, times, and moods. A lot of them have been shown on my twitter (sort of my main base of operations these days, and you can find it here), and some of them are buried in blogposts that never got finished for one reason or another. Also included is the painting commissioned from Agnes Garbowska, who is the awesomest and you should go check her out.

If you have any questions, feel free to hit up the comments, and we can tell you all about any of the shots.

so without further ado, here's our Heroine at her finest.

...after the break, of course.

Happy Holidays!

Oh.

um...

Hey there.

Listen, sorry we forgot about you guys. We've been...well, we've got a lot planned for the new year, so we've been real busy with all of that.

We feel awful about forgetting though, so how about a story, fresh off the presses for all you MLP fans?

This one's called Restless Couriers.

We're quite proud of it. The Sombraverse is still on its way, but here's something to fill the gap in the meantime.

Happy Holidays! See you soon.

O Weird World: Cadejo's fantastic day.

I know reposting things here from my twitter is self-indulgent at best, and horrid levels of tacky at minimum, but today I pulled off a hat-trick in Tweetstorms. the first and third will be compiled into normal text, but the second one loses punch if not presented in its original format.

head below the break for timespace anomalies, cute barkeeps, moments of ecstasy, and the multiverse's most dangerous appetizer.

02 December 2015

Welcome to the Sombraverse.

It all begins right here, dear readers.

Enjoy.

FROM THE VAULTS: Cadejo's published article on Ponies, during his college years.

A bit of preface: I have been on the MLP bandwagon long enough that I can get away with calling myself one of the OG Bronies. #represent

Someone on Skype got me nostalgic about it, so here's an article I wrote back in college about 8 months after I became a brony (so around November 2011) about the show.

I'm not changing anything, even the references to my then-beginning problems with alcohol, so as to preserve my feelings at the time, and not give into the temptation to rewrite it completely.

So, here, after the break, unedited and unretractable, is

ON THE MAGIC OF FRIENDSHIP (or, how I learned to stop hating myself and love ponies)

30 November 2015

Fresh from the presses:

SO, my dear readers, we have a story already on its way to you. It's called Crooked Stems. It's a little rough, seeing as we didn't have time to hit up folks for proper pre-reading before the deadline for NaPoWriMo, but we're still proud of it!

More than that, we also have a Multi-volume work headed your way. Cadejo nearly crapped himself with joy over the Sombra Timeline in the finale, and as a result we've got a whole universe to fill. We've got some 3500 words into it already, and it's been a while since the gang has been so inspired.

Our rough count at this time for NaPoWriMo is 11.5k or so, which is a huge improvement over the last couple attempts in previous years, all of which add up to zero.

We'll keep you posted! In the meantime, check the rough version of 'Crooked Stems' and keep an eye out for more!

...actually don't. that sounds painful.

15 November 2015

weekly reminder I'm not dead.

Not going to tease and say I've got anything coming down the pipe directly, but now that I'm getting a handle on the overnights I'm starting to have time again, so I wouldn't rule it out, either.

05 November 2015

...

if you're ever wondering what I'm up to in the day-to-day, (or, C&L forbid, you worry about me for some reason) you can always find me on twitter. It's a lot easier to post random thoughts that don't quite add up to a decent post.

also, I am so freaking stoked, man. I get a pip-boy.

04 November 2015

shifts five nights a week

So it's going to be slow for a bit. It's a bit much, but a job's a job, right?

28 October 2015

Adapting

If it seems like the blog's gathering dust, that's because it has been, at least a little bit.

I've been finding it hard to sit down and write up posts (planned or otherwise) if only because I'm now sleeping about 10 hours a day. on my two days off, I totally trashed the sleep schedule that I've been trying to set for myself.

the job itself isn't bad, and more often than not it's been dead as a doornail. If anything, I feel a little over-trained for what is otherwise a brainless job.

still, the hours get long, and I find myself taking time on tasks just to burn off some of that stack of time that ends up laying about and casting a dull grey light over everything. I don't feel confident enough to sneak my computer in yet, and given that my handwriting is not only slow but sloppy, I'm not producing a lot of content, much less of the quality I feel I owe you few regulars.

I'm sure I'll get a routine soon enough, but all the same, posts might be once a week instead of  (almost) once a day for the next couple of weeks, at least until I have a handle on this whole thing.

23 October 2015

Day 3 of graveyard shift

Posts have been non-existent because I've been sleeping roughly 10 hours a day.

still getting used to it. Somehow, the night where I was barely conscious (the first one), my count on cigarettes was at least 80% MORE accurate than the night where I was awake (last night).

going to try to do better on night three, but only time will tell.

anyways, just here to show that A) I ain't dead, B) I remember this blog exists, and 3) I ain't dead.

catch you all on the flip.

21 October 2015

Tonight the job starts.

Didn't have time to hack together a post, but I'm sure tonight will provide plenty of...colorful stories for the near future.

either way, wish me luck.

20 October 2015

Post later, Steam time.

Trying to fight my way through my backlog of games, so no real post tonight.

If you want to come bother me, my steam name is Call me Cadejo (big surprise, right?), but you might also want to drop me a line and tell me who you are.

19 October 2015

The Long Cold Hours

I'll tell you about them, after the break.

16 October 2015

No Bot Is An Island-How does death in video games affect you?

Hey folks.

two things:

1) We're done making adjustments to the site, at least for now. More is planned for the future, but planned in that 'couple o' fuzzy ideas scribbled down somewhere' sort of way. Things should be stable for a bit.

B) an interesting thought occurred to me during a twitter conversation, and lit up a bunch of percolating concepts in the back of my head. I'm turning it into an essay, but as always, no writing piece is of any use without some research behind it. so I'd like to pose a few questions, if you're up for them.

You can find those questions below.

15 October 2015

BEAR WITH US...OR HORSE WITH US OR WOLF WITH US OR FLA---

So I'm trying to crack the IntenseDebate html by hand and make the font a little bigger for legibility. As you can guess, it's painfully slow. EDIT: Never mind. Turns out ID has some quick CSS shortcuts buried in the help section. comments be bigger now. I'm also trying some alternate palettes and stuff out, so don't assume anything is permanent until we say otherwise.

I'm also still trying to find an ideal font, which by all estimations is going to take some time. I like Georgia the most out of the options I have, but... I dunno.

feel free to panic, start fires, and generally riot in the comments.

won't change anything, per se, but it might make you feel better.

New formatting, what do you think?

So I'm trying out a few formatting changes, for the sake of design and readability.

Chief among them (and the one that's NOT up for debate) was ditching the old font, as it was...well, total shit, for lack of a better term.

I adjusted the font size, as well, and a few other things.

What do you folks think? better? worse? yes? no? maybe? not as cool as SweetieBelleDaily?

Feel free to post your questions/comments below, as I am very desperate for the attentionI am curious as to what's an improvement, or what changes could be made for the better.

09 October 2015

Adventures with Sweetsong-Ontario County Park...again.

Catch it after the break.

06 October 2015

Returning to regular posts soon

Thanks for the patience, dear readers. Things are...well, better, at least, and I'll have both the time and the emotional stability to make posts regularly again.

Sorry that there's not much more than that tonight, but as it stands I don't have the focus or the inspiration to crank something out for you. soon, friends. soon.
